Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): How We Support Your Loved One
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are the everyday tasks we all need to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity. As we age or experience physical or cognitive changes, these tasks can become more difficult to manage independently.
At Always Home Residential Assisted Living, we provide compassionate, hands-on assistance with ADLs while encouraging independence whenever possible. Our goal is to support residents in a way that preserves their dignity, routines, and quality of life—just like home.
ADLs may include assistance with:
-
Bathing and personal hygiene
-
Dressing and grooming
-
Toileting and continence support
-
Mobility and transfers (walking, standing, sitting)
-
Eating and mealtime support
Our trained caregivers offer gentle reminders, physical assistance, and supervision based on each resident’s individual needs and comfort level. Care is personalized—some residents may only need minimal support, while others benefit from more hands-on help throughout the day.
Although Always Home operates as an unlicensed residential assisted living home, we choose to follow structured care practices informed by the owner’s nursing background and experience in health monitoring, emergency response, infection control, and individualized care planning. This allows us to provide consistent, thoughtful, and safety-focused support for daily living needs.
If you’re unsure whether ADL support is right for your loved one, we’re here to help. During your inquiry, we’ll walk you through your options and help you understand what level of care best fits your family’s situation—so you can make a confident, informed decision.
